Thought I would share my ventures I have had with crptyo mining, and hopefully someone may find it to be informative and helpful information.
coinhive was mined for 102 days from September 23, 2017, until January 3, 2018

total waste of time but it was not just me it was a webminer so it was useful just a little)
MinerGate was mined for 109 days from Janurary 3, 2018 to April 22, 2018
total mined:
1.051346526031 XMR (
this includes 0.606433565204 XMR & 0.24469672 ZEC exchanged for XMR, so not a total waste of time but compared to the next pool total waste of hashing power verses payout amounts)
I have been mining supportxmr for 100 days from April 22, 2018 (
and am currently still mining this pool until something better comes along)
